Juventus 0-1 Como Women: Nischler upsets bianconere on home soil

The clash between Juventus and Como Women for the first win of the Serie A’s season ends up with a shocking victory by away side as Nadine Nischler, one of the rising stars of Italian football, surprises bianconere’s defense on a Petzelberger corner at the 84th minute to decide the Matchday 2 clash. It was not the sunny day Canzi dreamed of after a great win in Champions League during the week.

Match report

In the first half both sides have created chances to score, but Gilardi and de Jong were great to deny forwards the joy of scoring. Sottili and Canzi recalled referee’s attention by using one of the two cards in their willing because of the Football Video Support, but neither decision was changed after the review. In the second one, bianconere seemed more focused on the target while the opponents struggled to replicate the first 45 minutes, but as seen all changed in the final 600 seconds.

It was Chiara Beccari the most valuable on the home team, booked for a simulation at 49th and hitting the post at 64th, but her teammates had difficulties in constructing other dangerous chances. So Como waited and at the end they sealed victory at the end. So here they are the first three points of the season while Juventus is still winless after a low-profile start of the season despite winning the Serie A Women’s Cup at the end of September.
