Milan Women haven’t lost against Roma in Serie A Women since October 2024, and today’s match changed the statistics on favor to giallorosse, which proved to be still dazed by the heavy defeat against Real Madrid in UEFA Women’s Champions League during the week. Rossonere played better, but at the end was Rossettini‘s side gaining.
The report
Roma Women started better with Giugliano and Pandini who challenged Giuliani, but their efforts were imprecise. On the opposite hand, Milan Women was much more dangerous, but a little bit of slowness in the manoeuvre denied them of a well deserved goal. Rossonere took the lead at the 76th with a fabulous shot by MVP Kay-Lee De Sanders, but the rivals came strong in the last minutes finding the equaliser with Corelli (too lonely in the penalty area on a left-handed corner) and with Giugliano, that set her free perfectly in the defense to score the winning-goal.
Commentary
Last week last gasp by Emma Koivisto gifted Milan Women with three points in Genoa, but today things changed in the opposite way. Roma managed to overcome the result by using their own quality to suddenly change the afternoon.
