Roma Women 3-0 Inter Women: Giugliano and two former players decide Serie A top clash

Roma Women beat Inter in Matchday 4 of Serie A Women, marking a sparkling start of the season which sees them leading the league with 12 points out of 12. In the Capital City, Giallorosse were able to open the score at the very first chance, then did not make the most from the other opportunities in the game, and finally closed the game and that was enough to bring the three points home.

The report

Roma Women started better and took the lead in 4th minute, as Pandini fired at Rúnarsdóttir‘s back after Greggi recovered a ball from a poor kick of Ivana Andrés. Nerazzurre tried their best to bounce back, but they created only two chances in first half, with Baldi that watched out on Bugeja at the 8th, while Glionna had a much better opportunity in 29th, but in that case was Heatley the one who saved before the line. Meanwhile Giallorosse challenged Rúnarsdóttir again with Pandini in 27th, but the Icelandic goalkeeper made a good save on her post.

Same script in the second half, as Glionna hit the woodwork on her first attempt but after Bugeja had to be subbed (suspected ACL rupture) Roma found the way to write the word “end” on the top clash thanks to Dragoni, who like Pandini has been a former Inter Women’s player. In the stoppage time, finally, Giugliano managed to score the third. It can be said that Giallorosse are now dominating Italian league, while their rivals are still struggling to get back to their form shown in the previous year.
